The Suzuki V-Twin that is at the heart of this beast of a touring machine has been around largely unchanged since 1997 tracing its roots back to the TL sportbike and the later SV1000 which were known for being behemoths of power back in their day. This is a solid powerplant with proven track record and is a great engine layout for a big ADV machine keeping the chassis narrow so that if you want to pop off the bags and get a little adventurous on your choice of road (or lack thereof) you can make your way around a mountain pretty well on nothing but logging roads and long forgotten dirt tracks. This bike gets a little on the large and heavy side if attempting something as strenuous as single track with mud sand or logs involved but there are plenty of youtube videos out there showing these bikes are capable of getting it done and taking a beating doing it. But for the vast majority of riders this would be a very comfortable very capable commuter and touring bike that can handle the occasional trek up tot the cabin in the mountains on your favorite twisty back roads - even if they are of the dirt variety. The shinko 705 trail master tires we just installed are one of our favorite big dual sport tires that are basically a 70/30 street bias and they love gravel and can even manage some mild sand and mud if your adventures happen to take you there as well. This is a great all around bike that is an absolute BARGAIN for the money when compared to machines in the same class being sold new now. Even the current generation of this exact same model is selling for over 000.
