Clevinger Opus 4 Electric Upright Double Bass

Description

Up for grabs is a Clevinger Opus 4 Electric Upright Double Bass. This is a used bass and if you know the name or have played these then you know these are one of the best EUBs you can buy.
Bass is in great shape save for a handful of blemishes which I tried to show within the provided pictures. The finish on any Clevinger tends to rub off at the scroll and it simply can’t be helped unless you never take your bass anywhere. This bass would benefit from a setup and I say expect to have a new nut carved out (- job for the nut) as the G and A string both sit too low and buzz with lighter right hand pizzicato techniques however arco seems to be alright. Electronics and tuners work just fine. Strings are a set I don’t recall but you can identify them by the wrap if you want to search. They are older strings I’ve had for about 15 years I think and have some light corrosion where you’d set a bow then a few indents or slightly flat 2-3” streaks of corrosion along the fingerboard area. I think the E and G are 90% with the A and D being about 70% BUT if you think the moment a string has any wear/damage that they are to be tossed then consider them all throwaways. The rubber peg/floor stopper is in great shape and overall this bass is in 8/10 condition. The piece of metal that is supposed to mimic the rib/side of an upright bass is not included. No other accessories are included other than the case which is also in great shape. Side of the fingerboard has faint white markers from a paint pen to mark F, G and A along the E string. They likely can be cleaned off but I didn’t bother as it didn’t matter to me they were there. Fingerboard is free of blemishes save for light wear marks/imprints from the strings that are superficial and not structurally damaging. Most upright basses that are actually played will develop these superficial marks but most don’t bother mentioning them as it’s a trivial thing like some wear on a nut by the string.
I own two of these as this was intended as a stage backup but then COVID hit and my plans have changed. Never bothered setting it up due to acquiring it as venues were all shutting down.
