    Description

    RARE 1967-1968 Gone With The Wind Set of (4) Framed Lithographs of "Oil Paintings" mounted in cardboard "frames" for theater lobby displays. Posters were for theater display use of the 1968 re-release of the movie. These lithograph posters simulate the appearance of 19th century oil portraits. Portraits depict Vivien Leigh as "Scarlett O'Hara"; Clark Gable as "Rhett Butler"; Olivia de Havilland as "Melanie Wilkes" and Leslie Howard as "Ashley Wilkes".
    Posters come in a bright gold brass metal frame with glass and a red border around the litho. Framed measurements are 24" x 18". Lobby poster are not flat, but are recessed in about .5" deep making them appear to be in 3D. On the overall, the portrait frame posters are in very good vintage condition. They all have some wear to the cardboard frame corners and Ashley has some old stain spots, which is shown in photos. The colors are still bright and vibrant. Posters no longer have the cardboard easel on the back. They have been in our collection for nearly 30 years and display beautifully! Comes from a smoke-free home.
