    Description

Vintage 1972 Hurricane Agnes Flood Relief Budweiser Beer Amber Glass Water Bottle Sealed.
In 1972, Hurricane Agnes flooded the Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania area with over 12 ft. of water, and devastated a wide area.
Anheuser-Busch delivered emergency drinking water in unlabeled glass bottles embossed with the Anheuser-Busch logo all around.  The twist off cap does read Budweiser Beer. There is a 72 designation on the bottom of the bottle.
The sealed contents do have tiny floating specks throughout; the water is not meant for drinking, for display only.
Great old historical piece, it may have been the first time Busch did the distribution. It may have been the beginning of the idea of commercial bottled water.  We called the water Bud-water, and imagined we were cool drinking out of beer bottles in public (I was 16 years old at the time). Anheuser-Busch still does provide cans of emergency drinking water to disaster areas.
This bottle is in very good condition, sealed, with some age discoloration spots to the cap. See photos. Free US shipping.  See my other vintage collectable listings. Thanks
